Prestigious Flagship Project grants have been awarded by the CHPC to the following:

	CHPC - NWU Collaborative Flagship Project with Professor Marius Potgieter
	CHPC - UL Collaborative Flagship Project with Professor Phuti Ngoepe
	CHPC - UCT Collaborative Flagship Project with Professor Bruce Hewitson and Professor Frank Shillington

All of the above mentioned projects are carried out as collaborations between the CHPC and the respective research units. While the CHPC will provide financial support and computational resources towards the research units, the latter have agreed to assist the career development of the CHPC research officers and students through the inclusion of the scholars into their research programmes. The intension is to nurture the CHPC Research Officers to become leading scientists themselves in the not so distant future.

Other possible research collaborations include projects with Mintek, Pebble Bed Modular Reactor (PBMR) and a select number of other niche research units. These potential collaborations are in a planning and development stage but it is anticipated to have a positive outcome and lead to valuable new research

Further calls for proposals will be announced in the second half of 2007. Bursary schemes and training schedules will also be revealed shortly afterwards.
